When it comes to transformations, I have had my share both professionally and personally. I have shed many layers to arrive where I find myself today – a happy, well-adjusted, successful woman whose work is aligned with her purpose – helping other professionals transform mindfully so they can soar in all areas of their lives.
In my 25 years in the corporate world, I advanced quickly and worked my way from an International Marketing Manager in a start-up company to Vice President in multi-billion-dollar organizations within the medical device industry.
I overcame many obstacles in my career. Some were external obstacles, such as working my way through mergers, frequently changing managers, and working in environments of exclusion and discrimination. However, some of my greatest hindrances along the way were internal blocks. There were times when I thought I was not good enough, encountered moments when I doubted my qualifications (a.k.a. Imposter Syndrome), and internalized perceived external expectations regarding how female executives “should” behave. I did all of this while balancing the demands of my personal life.
Change is a constant. It’s not just small changes, but major shifts that brought me to where I am today. I know first-hand how challenging transformations can be and I have found a way to make them easier.
